The process begins right after the trailer leaves the weld shop
- First the trailer is fully shotblasted, using steel shot. The presence of even small amounts of surface contaminants such as grease, oil, oxides etc. can physically impair and reduce coating adhesion to the steel. Therefore, all Hulk Trailers frames are cleaned of foreign residues and then thoroughly shotblasted..
- Next, all trailers are hand ground to remove all sharp edge, slag, etc.
- Then it moves to our state-of-the-art paint line where it is treated with two coats of 2K High Build Epoxy Primer and then two coats of Acrylic Polyurethane High Gloss Top Coat.
- Then it is brought into our drying booth, where the trailer paint is baked on for added longevity.
- After curing, it’s off to the finishing department to complete the assembly.
